How does Smart Glass technology work?
Smart Glass uses Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology. When an electric current is applied, liquid crystals align to make the glass transparent. When the current is off, the crystals scatter, making the glass opaque.
What is the difference between Smart Glass and Smart Film?
Smart Glass is a glass panel with integrated PDLC technology that allows it to switch between transparent and opaque states. Smart Film, on the other hand, is a thin film with similar technology that can be applied to existing glass surfaces to provide the same switchable functionality. While Smart Glass is usually used in new construction or full window replacements, Smart Film can be added to existing windows, offering a more flexible and potentially more cost-effective solution. This distinction allows for different applications and choices based on project needs and budget considerations.
